Pixel Palace, Astana Public Art Festival One-way shipping pallets. Black plastic squares, 110x110cm, designed for a single journey. Poor quality, intended to break down. We listened to this weakness. The steppe has always known temporary dwelling. The yurt – assembled, inhabited, dismantled, moved. Position the pallets vertically. Connect with tie wraps. Poor quality becomes opportunity – the plastic bends slightly, allowing curvature. The dome emerges from material compliance. At dusk, colored TLC tubes illuminate from within. Blue, green, yellow light transforms black plastic into glowing matrix. The industrial grid becomes luminous, pixelated. Traditional form containing contemporary waste.
